Frequently Asked Questions

What does Souillac Country Club offer?
Souillac Country Club is a unique concept in property and leisure development - one of the first allowed in the Lot/Dordogne region, an area recognised as the rural heart of France. Set in hundreds of hectares of protected forest, the houses are being built around a picturesque 18 hole golf course and with a range of leisure services. The development has been designed throughout to complement the stunning surroundings, and Souillac Country Club offer full property management and rental services to home owners, providing a secure environment that meets all of their maintenance requirements - to ensure complete peace of mind.

When did Souillac Country Club start?
The land was purchased in 1996. Infrastructure work, being a nine hole golf course, two all weather tennis courts, a swimming pool and renovation of the clubhouse and gite, was completed in 1997. The first houses were built in the same year. The golf course was extended to 18 holes in 2003.

What is the house design, and are they all detached?
The houses are "Alpine" wooden construction built to the high construction and environmental standards demanded by the French government. They are high quality detached houses standing on individual plots varying from 500 to 800 sq. metres, looking out over the golf course or surrounding countryside. Each house comes with a 10 year insurance backed guarantee. The houses are in small groups of 6 to 17, each with a communal swimming pool and landscaping in keeping with the area.

Can you assist with furnishings?
Yes. Souillac Country Club can provide a selection of furniture packs, and our Interior Design Consultant will be happy to assist.

As a freehold owner can I extend my house, build a garage?
Any external changes should not detract from the ambiance and harmony of the development. Subject to planning and co-propriety consent, changes could be agreed.

What is co-propriety and how does it work?
Similar to owning a flat. The owners of each hamlet, share the cost of up-keep for common facilities, eg. Public lighting, roads, swimming pool, cable TV, etc. All the owners belong to a co-propriety and elect a management committee who liaise with a professionally qualified independent agent to agree budgets and work to be done annually.

If I do not take up the Para-Hôtelerie arrangement, can I rent out my house when I am not using it?
Yes. You can take advantage of our rental management service, in the same way as para-hôtelerie owners.
